The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Women and Human Rights Discuss the Rights of the Somali Children.

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs H.E. Salah Ahmed Jama today met with the Minister of Women and Family Affairs at Deeqa Yasin, who oversees the ministry’s responsibilities, such as the head of the CRC Cabdishakuur Hajib Hayir, the Ministry of Women’s Rights and Human Rights.

Minister of Labor and Women’s Affairs discussed the strengthening of relations and co-operation between the two ministries to improve the way in addressing human rights issues, particularly the rights of child laborers. Also, the Board of Directors and the Ministry of Labor have also contributed questions and recommendations to the cabinet meeting.

The two ministers agreed to draft a policy to prevent the spread of Somali children in the two ministries as proposed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs

Minister Salah Ahmed Jama said his ministry will continue to pursue additional efforts to develop plans for strengthening collaboration with children’s rights and policies to prevent child abuse.

Deeqa Yasin, Women’s and Human Rights Commissioner of the Somali Federal Government, said the process of co-operation between the two ministries states “I welcome all partners in each of the two ministries, The international community is waiting for a report as we have signed the international treaty for children; this initiative will be open and transparent. ”

Finally, ministers have stressed that they are committed to the development of a legal and regulatory framework for Somali children.
