Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Conducted Consultative Meeting on youth employment of Somalia for Regional Heads of State of Somalia

This meeting was organized for the staff of Youth employment of Somalia (YES). The meeting was all about on the coordination of the regional administration’s staff and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. The meeting took place in Mogadishu.

The lead of the meeting was owned by the ministry of labor and social affairs as it was hosted in a proper manner, the meeting was attended by the Director General of the ministry of labor and social affairs accompanied by the consultants of the ministry as well as the staff of the Youth Employment for Somalia including members from the regional states of Somalia especially.

The General Director of the ministry of labor and social affairs Mr. Mohamed Adde Muktar was opened the meeting and highlighted several issues concerns Youth Employment for Somalia staff and the main importance of the meeting in order to understand the main components of the YES Project he also mentioned that every state has its own resources to create jobs like, livestock, fishing, and farming that can benefit many youths in Somalia.

The Director-General also said that Somalia is one of the countries affected by the damage and there is need to rescue the nation as per current involvement of the role of youth to participate in the development and rebuilding of the country.

Koshin Korfa Garan; the coordinator of the YES Youth Support Program, reported on the importance of the meeting and said: “On behalf of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs on this project, our role is only the link between our ministry and its offices owned by the regional governments, and we hold this meeting to demonstrate the relationship between the offices in the regional states and our ministry.

Prof. Yusuf Salad Warsame who is one of the advisors of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs was part of the program’s operators and said that it was important to have representatives from the Ministry of Labors from the regional states since the ones from the Federal Government are busy with other work. He also urged the staffs of this program are the most important members who can implement this program as this focuses on regional states to create jobs for their youth.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to co-operate and the outcome would be to create employment for the Somali youth who have been experiencing lack of jobs for a long time.
